Favourite Summer Lip Combo

Hey everyone!
If you guys have seen my latest June Favourites video, I mentioned that I'd swatch my favourite summer lip combo. Well tadaa here it is! I'm absolutely obsessed with this lipliner-lipstick combo, its super nudey pink but not like an I'm-dead-but-I'm-trying-to-be-trendy look.

First of, is the MAC lip liner in Dervish. It's just a muted rose-nude shade that is exactly my lip colour and can go with any lipstick. I like to line my lips for a bit of a fuller pout, and is also a great base for your lipstick to adhere to.

Second, is the MAC lipstick in Angel. This is apparently Kim Kardashian's go-to nude lipstick, and I can see why. It's just a light baby pink nude shade that goes with practically any eye makeup.

The swatch above is the lip liner, and below is the lipstick. These two together is just an absolute match made in heaven. That dervish angel ;)

All in all, I totally recommend this combo. If y'all haven't checked out my YouTube channel, go give it a look-see!

Sorry for not posting in absolute ages, Sally and I went on a little blogging break!

LUSH Lip Scrub Review

Hey there, Julsie here!
So y'all probs are wondering: why you MIA for so long? Well, my beautiful people, I had midterm exams :(

Nonetheless, using my favourite lipstick, Angel by MAC has gotten me through these tough times. But the downside to that lipstick is, it's a bit drying, and with the winter weather here in Hong Kong land, it has not been a good look.

Thus, lo and behold, my best friend has been the LUSH lip scrub! My flavour is in mint julips, which is this sweet mint flavour.
Note how I said flavour: it's actually edible! You just wet your lips, swab some scrub on your finger, buff away at those puckers and lick it off! This is actually LUSH's edible product, the gritty bits are actually sugar crystals and since LUSH is a vegan and natural company, there's no chemicals in any of their products.

I used to have this in the chocolate flavour, but I used it up and now it's already discontinued. My morning routine is wake up, dance away to the bathroom with my iPod on, brush my teeth, gargle with mouthwash, and use this lipscrub. It's become such a therapeutic routine and it also makes my lipstick smooth on nicely. It's the absolute best of both worlds!

Well, it's been nice sharing my new fave product with you all, but I have to get back to studying :(
As always, follow me on twitter @MissJulianaYu and my Instagram @littlemissjuliana.

Canada Beauty Haul

Hey tweedlers,
It's Sally here! I'm back from my trip to Canada, Toronto! I had such an amazing three weeks there but unfortunately I didn't bring my laptop so I could blog. It was so cold so it's nice to be back in 40 degree heat. (Sort of...) The snow was so beautiful! Today I thought I would blog about my make up/beauty haul because make up is so much cheaper in Canada and then next week I will blog about my actual trip and locations I visited such as Niagara Falls and some other items I bought. Sound good? For those wondering about prices $1CAD is pretty much $1AUD. Okay let's begin.
I was so happy to see that there was a Victoria's Secret store there because the only one we have in Australia is some tiny Airport one that only sells a few accessories. This is a holiday edition called Bombshell Diamonds which I got for 75% which took the price down to about $15CAD. It smell so good and I'm happy it's a perfume rather than a mist so it's stronger and lasts longer. I'd say it's more a summery/spring day scent. It has top notes of fruit, middle notes of flowers and base notes of wood which gives it a very pleasant smell. I'm so happy about this purchase and the price I got it at.
Next I visited the Body Shop which we've also got here in Australia but is way too expensive so it's almost always empty every time I walk past. Fortunately it's a lot cheaper in Canada and I got these for $6 but it was buy 2 get one free which meant they were actually $4CAD each! The first one is a Born Lippy Lip Balm in Strawberry. I love the smell of it and it does add a tiny bit of colour to the lips which is nice. The next two are Lip Butters, the first one in Coconut and the next one in Honey. I can't decide which one I like the best but they all make my lips feel so moisturised and they smell really good.
I went to the Mac store and picked up Viva Glam 2, Diva and Russian Red. I was sort of scared of getting a nude lipstick, the Viva Glam 2 because I didn't know whether or not I could pull it off but I thought might as well give it ago.
I also picked up the Mac Vanilla Pigment which I absolutely love already! I use it to highlight the inner corner of my eye,  and my brown bone. You can also use it as a highlighter but the colour is so beautiful!
Mac eye shadow in Vanilla and Wedge. I'll be using this for a natural everyday make up look.
Mac Mineralised Skin Finish. A lovely subtle highlighter.
Then I went over to Sephora and bought this Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick - Rose. Oh my gosh this is so amazing! I love it so much. It is a blusher/highlighter and I think it would be perfect for night outs or even for everyday. It's makes your skin look so healthy and gives you a perfect glow. I was really contemplating getting it and I'm so happy I did.
As you can see I went on a bit of a highlight spree. This is the Benefit High Beam. This is also a product I would recommend. It's really easy to apply the amount in this bottle will probably last me forever. I use this on top of my cheek bones and it gives a nice healthy glow. This one I would recommend for everyday. It has more of a dewy/pearl finish rather than glittery.
Lucky last. You might have read that I use to use a Clinique powder which got discontinued but I remember during that time, my skin never broke out so I decided to try out the Clinique Even Better foundation which has an SPF 15. I love the formulation as it's not too runny and sits really well on the skin. It has a nice dewy finish. I probably wouldn't recommend it if you've got super oily skin but for dry/combination it's definitely one you should try.

So that is it for my beauty/make up haul. I hope you enjoyed reading. Be sure to check back next week to find out more of my time in Canada.
Love Sally.

Priceline (beauty) Haul

Hello there my friends, it's Sally here!

A few weeks ago in Priceline (a pharmacy) there was a big sale and all make up was 40% off! Yay! So I made a trip there and bought a few things tested them out and thought I'd share them with you and what my opinions are on the products.

1. Real Techniques Powder Brush

Wow this brush is good. I had a really dodge cheap one before this because I didn't think having a good brush would make a difference. Eventually that brush began to fall apart and I kept having to pick the little hairs off my face.I though enough was enough and got a new brush. Definitely do not regret this purchase and I look forward to getting more brushes from Real Techniques.

2. Essie Nail Varnish

I've really been liking Essie Nail polish more lately. I like how thin the consistency is so it dries faster and lasts longer. These two colours looked really pretty so I got them haha! Typical girly answer. They are in the shades Marshmellow and Limo-scene.

3. Bourjois 1 Seconde Gel Enamel

This stuff is good. It's also quite cheap which made me question how good it would be. I bought this because I had a school formal and my dress was blue so I wanted matching nails. The brush is quite wide so I could paint my nails very quickly. Apparently that's why it's called 1 second, because of the time it takes to paint each nail. This is in the shade, Bleu Water.

4. Rimmel Apocalips

This is in the shade Stellar. I really like this stuff. The pigmentation is so good and it's not sticky like a lip gloss which makes me happy. It appears quite glossy when you apply it but eventually tones down when it dries, not to a matte but not as shiny. The smell and taste is pleasant and hardly noticeable too. I would highly recommend this product, one of Rimmels best lip products!

5. Maybelline Illegal Length

I got this in the waterproof formula. The wand is much smaller than the cover girl wands which I really like. I'm not too sure of this mascara yet though, sure it adds a tiny bit of length but it lacks volume and the product seems to dry so I keep having to dip my brush in for more. Not too impressed but it's good for more natural looking lashes.

6. Rimmel Match Perfection

Okay, I think I'm definitely a Rimmel girl. This foundation is perfection. I have combination skin and this stuff is so good! It's got I'd say a medium coverage which can be build able. It doesn't smell too scented. I was a little worried about how runny it was but it works and makes my skin look good so I'm happy!

7. Maybelline Color Tattoo

Wow it was weird to write color because I spell it as colour. Theses to shades are called, Bad to the Bronze and Inked in Pink. These are very similar to the Mac Paint Pots in fact these actually work better for me personally because the Mac Paint Pots creased on me a bit. I know some people are the opposite so I guess you just have to experiment but I'm excited to get these in more shades!

8. Rimmel Kate Moss 107

These Kate Moss lipsticks are up there! These shade is my favourite out of all the ones I own! I think it's perfect for winter or autumn! The Kate Moss lipsticks last a long time and have really good pigmentation! I also like the packaging. I hope Rimmel keeps releasing more of these!

9. Lanterns!

These are actually from Typo. I've wanted some for ages but didn't know where to put them but I finally had an idea. They make my room feel so cosy and I really want more. They were easy to put together and I just love them so much! How cute do they look?

So that's all for now. I hope you're all well! It's officially summer here now so it's getting rather warm! Until next time, love! xxx

Makeup Haul and a Very Happy Sally!

Oh hello! It's Sally here!

On Friday, I had a practise 3 hours English exam which was absolute torture. On that day however, there was a Boost Challenge where you had to wrap yourself in foil so 2 of my friends and I went to the local supermarket, bought some foil which was $1.50 and wrapped ourselves in foil and showed up at Boost! It was very rewarding but a bit embarrassing getting a Boost for 50c! Afterwards, I thought I might treat myself a little since I did just write three essays (9 pages worth of writing!) so I went to Price-line pharmacy to have a look at their make up.

 This is what I bought:

Rimmel
So we all know how much I loved the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder and Kate Moss Lipstick in 106. Since those two purchases, I decided that I really liked Rimmel and went ahead to buy the Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Glow and another Kate Moss Lipstick in 12. 12 is an orangey sort of colour. I was going to buy one from Mac but I thought if the orange didn't suite me I would have wasted a whole lot of money. Then... I noticed that if you bought $15 worth of Rimmel you got a free gift which consisted of a waterproof Scandal Eyes mascara, a lip gloss and a blue eye liner. Yay! I always wanted a blue eye liner but didn't know whether or not I could pull it off but now I got one for free I can say there is no harm in trying it and I can safely say, I love Rimmel!

Bourjois
Then I headed over to the Bourjois section. Actually I didn't even know Australia sold Bourjois so I was pleasantly surprised! I decided I needed a foundation since, shock horror *insert inside joke* I don't have any. I heard lots of people raving on about the Bourjois foundations so I decided to get myself one since it was quite a good price as well and I didn't want too much coverage. Then I saw they had the Color Boost Sticks which are basically a copy of the Clinique Chubby Sticks but half price so I got myself one in a nice red! I tried it on and wow I love that stuff! It's so moisturising and has good pigmentation at the same time! Very happy that I found that! While I was at that counter, I noticed Bourjois had a sign too, if you bought more that $20 worth you got a free gift! What a lucky day! The gift consisted of a lovely blush which is so pigmented as well and a primer. The primer does make your skin feel very smooth and soft but I'm not sure how much I will use it as I'm not too keen on layering more and more products on my face. Perhaps I will use it for only very special occasions.

 Other random stuff
I heard a lot about Beauty Blenders but I wasn't too sure where to buy them apart from online but I noticed Maybelline was selling a copy of one in purple so I bought it and I can say it's a very good buy! Although I can't compare it to the original, it does its job well so far. Then I bought an SPF for my face since the Australian Sun should be coming out soon and I don't want to get burnt. Lastly Essie recently got introduced into Australia so I bought two nail polishes from their range which was rather small as Australia is only selling their top colours.

I'll film a review later of all the things I bought on Friday and post it up after I've used them for sometime and have enough information for you. For now I can say that I'm very happy with all the freebies I got! Hope you're all well and I'll talk to you next time. Kate Moss Lipstick and Apple releases

Oh hi, Sally here!
I've got one more week of school until the holidays! How exciting? Hopefully I'll have lots of things to blog about then! Yesterday, I was out and about and got a new lipstick! It's a Kate Moss Rimmel lipstick in shade 106 which is such a lovely colour. It has a matte consistency which is what I love about it as well and it was the amazing price of $10AUD. That's a steal compared to Mac lipsticks here which are $33AUD. I know you can't compare high end to drug store but really I can't tell much difference in the lipstick.

Packaging:
For her matte series, the casing is red with Kate Moss' signature in black. It's got the Rimmel crown logo on the top. I believe the lipstick I got is from her new Winter collection.

Consistency:
The consistency is amazing! The product is super pigmented and is not shimmery or glossy at all which is what I like.

Application:
The application is smooth. Usually with lipstick, I put on a small amount and just spread it around my lips so the colour isn't too intense.

Also, this week, I finished reading Divergent by Veronica Roth! Wow that book was so exciting and intense and as soon as I finished reading it, I quickly bought Insurgent, the next book in the series and I'm already 50% through. I highly
recommend you add it to your list of books to read! Especially since the movie Divergent is coming out next year and I don't know about you, but I prefer to read the book before watching the movie.

Last Monday night, I was bored and decided to go and download ios7 even though it's being released on 18th September. I love it so much! Finally a change from Apple, it feels like I've actually gotten a new phone. To the left is a screenshot of what my phone looks like now! The update comes with 40 new wallpapers, 33 of which are Stills and 7 which are Dynamic. Yes they move when you tilt your phone.  Hopefully, in time they will add more Dynamic wallpapers. I chose the pink Still wallpaper because it's my favourite colour and it matches the case of my iPhone 5. I love this simple flat look! Onto further news, I'm sure you all know that Apple have announced iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S and have discontinued iPhone 5. What are my thoughts on the products? If you have an iPhone 4 or lower, sure go ahead and update! If you have a 4S or 5, wait! Honestly, I'm not going to update my phone for a plastic coloured back which makes the phone look cheaper or for a fingerprint scanner. Also, I'm still not to keen on the idea of a fingerprint scanner. I feel as though after time it may fail and people will revert back to the pass code method. Only time will tell how well it works I suppose. The reason Apple has discontinued iPhone 5, because it's exactly the same as the iPhone 5S. I am interested in the new camera functions on the iPhone 5S and how it takes a few and chooses the best one because I am quite interested in photography but that's not enough to make me want to buy a new phone. Besides, all iPhones 4S and up are able to update to the ios7 so I just don't think it's worth it.

Anyway, hope you're well and I'll blog again soon!
Love Sally xx

Nail Polish Favourites: Fall into Autumn!

Hi all,
I apologise for the one week break from blogging that we took; we were both super occupied with our school life :(
Aaaaanyways, back to business.
I've been loving painting my nails recently, and have been transitioning from the bright and bold pastels of Summer to the dark and ominous looking Fall colours.

1. Revlon Elegant

I've always thought that this colour reminds me a bit of Essie's Playa del Platinum, another great nude colour for your nails. I've been loving this, not only because it's a sophisticated "I'm a college student" colour, but a shade that goes with any outfit and any makeup.
It makes me feel sensible when my professors sees my nail colour- it would be incredibly awkward to take a nerdy subject when my nails are BAM bright pink.

2. OPI Sweetheart

This colour will always be a classic in my collection- I've used mine to the absolute pit bottom of the nail polish so I won't be able to upload my own photo for this, but it's super well loved. A classic baby pink- apply one sheer coat for a natural polished look, whereas a few coats will be a girly baby pink.

3. Revlon Ocean Breeze

If you follow me on my twitter, @LittleMJuliana, then you would know that I've absolutely been loving this nail polish. Just because I feel like a mermaid when I wear it. It's a mixture of blues and greens with an irridescent finish, and honestly, I would save this for the weekend/monday for a quick pick-me-up, plus it will definitely distract you in class. I would say to always use a top coat with this, it gives the iridescent glow an extra oomph, plus helps the nail polish stay on longer.
Oh did I mention that it actually smells like the ocean? I swear I'm actually a mermaid.

4. Essie Rock Star Skinny

Since Hong Kong either has a) no Fall season or b) it rolls around in late November, I live my Fall fantasies through other people's Youtube videos, whether it's Get Ready With Me: Fall Edition-s, or Outfit Of The Day-s, or everyone's raves about the Bath and Body Works Leaves candles. And this all happens whilst I'm wearing a skimpy tank top and shorts and the air conditioner blasting in the Hong Kong heat.

5. Essie Chinchilly

Essie Chinchilly just reminds me of warm Autumn days, snuggled up on the couch with a doona, a book, and  mug of hot cocoa, whilst a candle's burning in the background. My mother describes this colour as a "light sesame" colour, whereas I'd say that it's a muted, creamy, off-grey-taupe shade.

I've been so excited for fall, and even more excited for the fall nail polish colours and new Starbucks drinks. But, I just tried the iced Salted Caramel Mocha Frappucino today, and it wasn't as great as I expected it to be.

Anyways, signing off for now, I've got a lot going on the next day, and the rest of the week.

Love, from Juliana.

*Unfortunately, the photos used in this blog post are not mine, I have only been less busy at night, but the lighting was horrible to take a photo..
