King Kong and Carriage Rides

Hey there, it's Sally!
Oops, I'm a little late posting but I have an excuse! I went and saw King Kong the Musical on Saturday with some of my friends from Sydney and thought I'd do a short review about it.

First of all, I wasn't expecting very much. I didn't know anything about King Kong except that he was a massive gorilla that is on a building. When the show started, it seemed like any other musical until the stage effects started, and oh my gosh they are impressive! The stage rocked and bits would go down and other bits would go up and the lighting and visual effects were so amazing! Apparently, King Kong had been planned out for five years and rehearsed for six months. During the interval, I spent the whole time trying to figure out how things worked. King Kong itself was a 1.1 tonne puppet. It had 10 men dressed in black on stage moving it around and 3 people off stage controlling its face and voice. Even though you were aware it was a puppet, it didn't draw away from the experience and you barley noticed them. King Kong's face was so real I couldn't believe it. The songs were okay.. I thought nothing that really stuck in my head afterwards but the singers were very talented. I thought Esther Hannaford who played the girl King Kong fall's in love with had a lovely voice and sounded very much like Celine Dion. The dancing was amazing, maybe I'm being biased because my ex Jazz teacher was in the show. There was one part where Kong came right to the edge of the stage and was Ann Darrow and it looked like he was about the grab one of the audience members any second! Overall, I was very buzzed from the performance. If you get the chance, I would highly recommend it. Especially for people 14+.

The next day, we went on a horse carriage ride for half an hour which was good fun. Unfortunately, it started raining and was very windy but we could lift the sides up (sort of like a convertible) so we were sheltered from the rain. We waved to lots of people on the street while we were on the carriage and lots of people waved back which was nice. (Definitely not sour.) Our horses names were Bobby and Chief and they were both boys. They were very cute!

Next, we payed a visit to Luna park but it looked a bit like it was about to fall apart so we didn't go in haha!
Finally, we had a mini buffet at a restaurant called Rococo's. We could choose 10 things on the menu for $50 which is quite good split between 4 people! We were all very full after eating and it was delicious!

All in all, I had a very fun weekend!
Talk to you later,
Sally xx

Shopping Spree and Photoboothing!

Hey there, Sally here!

Today I met up with one of my friends from Sydney who came down to see some of the art exhibitions happening here. I did a bit of shopping while she was here. I also had a gift card given to me on my birthday from my friends which I had yet to spend and it was going to expire soon so I thought I better use it soon. (Note none of these clothing images are mine.)

Firstly, I got this top from Forever New. I got it because it reminded me of this Monets Garden exhibition that's going on at the moment and I thought it would be cute to wear in the summer.

Secondly, I got this jacket from Lorna Jane. For those of you that don't know, it's like a sport shop but it has some nice stuff. I love how bright it is and it's a cool design. Pink is my favourite colour so when I saw it I knew it was a must have. This is what the front of the jacket looks like.

And this is the back! Nice huh?

Lastly, I got these tights from Lorna Jane. I needed new ones because my old tights were becoming very thin. Their so comfy to wear! They've got some pretty nice stuff but it's a little pricey so I guess I'll have to keep saving up!

Me (Right) and (Isabella)
I took some pictures with my friend Isabella! We took like 50 photos until we finally found one that we both agreed on. Haha!
And in this photo, we went to a photo booth which was only $4 which is pretty good and took some black and white photos! It was funny because we didn't now where to look in the booth and turns out we were looking too high up.

Well that's all for now! Until next time,

Sally xx

Sydney Haul

Hi, Sally here! Oops, so I was suppose to blog on Friday but then I forgot and I tried to blog last night but it was too dark to take any pictures and they all turned out quite yellow from the lighting so finally I am blogging today.

So I started school again last week on Tuesday and I've been quite busy and nothing really has changed so I thought I would tell you more about my holiday in Sydney and some things I bought or was given! Now because Sydney is still a part of Australia, most of the shops are the same but a few things caught my eye:

This cute little cardigan is from Chica Booti and was on sale for $20AUS. It was a little cold in Sydney so my friend and I went clothes shopping. It's woolly on the outside and nice and fluffy on the inside which keeps you super warm. I like wearing this with some jeans.

I may be the biggest Harry Potter fan you will ever meet (or read about). Last time I was in Sydney, I went to the Harry Potter Exhibition which was amazing! At the end, there was a shop and I bought a bookmark, Hermione's wand and a Gryffindor scarf as Pottermore sorted me into that house. So, when my friend went to England, she went to the Warner Bros Studio Tour and got me these badges! My favourite of course would be the Gryffindor badge. She also got me a packet of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans but the packaging got squashed in my suite case so I didn't take a photo of them. I haven't tried any yet because I'm so cared I'll get earwax flavour or earthworm or something awful like that.

While my friend was in England, she also went to France and got me this Arc de Triomphe souvenir. I'd love to go and visit France one day as it looks so beautiful!

Another of my friends got me this cute little key ring from Singapore. (I feel so spoilt from my friends!) Singapore is another place I would love to visit one day.

While we were leaving Sydney, I saw a small Victoria's Secret shop at the airport and stopped by to have a look as so many people from the US always rave on about this shop. They have a buy 3 and get a discount on their mists that of course I would have to buy 3. Coconut Passion is my favourite one! It smells sweet like coconut and vanilla and I've been compliment on how I smell after spraying this! I highly recommend this one!

Pure Seduction and yes it is seductive. It's suppose to smell like red plum and freesia but to me it smells a bit like the bubble juice I use to blow when I was a child so I guess it was a bit nostalgic for me. I haven't actually worn this one yet but I have smelt it countless times and you can't go wrong with getting this one for someone as a gift.

While I was at Victoria's Secret, I smelt so many scents that I actually couldn't smell any more. I've read that if you smell coffee beans in between each scent it helps your brain clear the smell of the previous one so you can smell the next scent better but unfortunately I didn't have any coffee beans with me. I picked this one, Secret Charm as it looked pretty but I couldn't actually smell it while I was in the shop. When I got home and did smell it, I thought it smelt lovely like flowers and it's labelled as honeysuckle and jasmine.

I'm back from my holiday!

Sally here, I'm back! Did you miss me? Just kidding! I just got back from my visit to Sydney. While I was there I visited my friends, ate a lot of food and caught a ferry to sight-see Sydney's landmarks and of course took some photos:

Luna Park
Ferry
Water Taxi
Sydney
It was so good to catch up with my friends again and seeing how much had changed since I last visited! The weather was a little cold and rainy while I was up so my friends and I went to Paddy's Market in China Town and I bought a Hello Kitty onesie to keep me warm at home. While I was there, I ate so much Thai food because my friend showed me this amazing restaurant! I can't wait to go there again! Also, I had so much Yum Cha where I mostly ate egg tarts and mango pudding, my favourites. On my second last day, the weather was nice and warm (for winter) so my friends and I spend some time in Hyde Park and took lots of pictures. Finally it was time to go, the plane got delayed as someone had decided to get off as it was about to depart. Other than that everything went smoothly. The only downside I guess is not having a constant wifi connection which is a bit difficult for a techie girl like me.

Meet The Tweedlers!

Welcome to The Tweedlers!
We co-founded this blog because, despite our unfortunate distance, we've been close friends ever since we were 11. We met on the first day of high school, in Sydney, Australia. We bonded over the fact that we had so much in common, from being hopeless at Geography, to our lavender-smelling English teacher, to our tamagotchi competitions. No judgement okay we were only 11. It's these little things that brought us closer, and we thought that since we're older now, we could start this little project together!
Punch in your email address on the right for an email subscription, so you get updates whenever we post! Together, we have heaps of hobbies and interests so our posts will be anything from gaming to music to fashion and beauty!
Here's a little bit about ourselves down below.
